How to Setting Gmail in Evolution Mail at Ubuntu?

To be able to access Gmail through Evolution mail, first you must enable POP/IMAP access in your Gmail. The steps are as follows :
  1. Login into your Gmail account (www.gmail.com).
  2. Click on the option icon and then select the mail settings
  3.  
     
  4. Select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab. 
  5.  
  6. Set Pop Download, select one of the following:
    • Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded).
    • Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on.
  7. Save your settings. 
After that, create a Gmail account in evolution mail to be able to access your Gmail in Evolution mail. If this is the first account in evolution mail, will then automatically run the wizard. But if this is not the first account and you want to add your Gmail account in Evolution mail, then you can add it by using the menu Edit>Preferences>Mail Accounts>Add.

In this post I explain about the making of the first times Gmail account in evolution mail so that the window that comes up is as below if you run evolution mail through menu aplications>Internet>Evolution Mail.


Click Forward so the window will appear like this :


Click Forward again. Fill in your name & mail address with your gmail.


Then set the Receiving Mail such as the following : 
  • Server Type : POP
  • Server : pop.gmail.com:995
  • Username : Fill in your Gmail account
  • Use Secure Connection : SSL encryption
  • Authentication : Password Authentication

After that, set this on your personal preference.


Set the Sending Mail as follows : 
  • Server : smtp.gmail.com:587 
  • Server requires authentication : Checked  
  • Security : TLS encryption
  • Authentication : Plain or Login
  • Username : fill in your Gmail account

Fill in your Account Information in accordance with your wishes, by default will be filled with your Gmail account.


When finished click Apply.
